Hand blown glass and metal sculpture by Robert Kuo, c.2000s, USA. The globe was produced using the peking glass method which originated in China. The red colored glass is blown into its form and then layered with more and more glass until the piece is completed. The process can take several days as it needs to cool as not to allow the glass to craze or crack. The globe rests on a silver plated tree trunk base.
