A dining table by David Rowland for GF Furniture Systems, c.1990. The Model 710 table has a burgundy laminated top that sits on top of chrome plated steel base that runs along the side of the tabletop with wire/hairpin legs. This table could also be used as a writing desk.
David Rowland attended the University of Southern California to study industrial design and, in 1951, received his Master’s Degree in Industrial Design at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Rowland believed that chairs should have characteristics other than appearance, this led him to spend 8 years designing a chair that would save space--the 40/4 Chair was patented in 1963.
